Obituary of Gary W. Shoemaker

Gary William Shoemaker, 62, born to William L & Dorothy H Shoemaker on June 1, 1954 born at Salem Hospital, raised in Pennsville. Graduated from Pennsville High School in 1972, began work with DuPont Chambers Work in July of 1972, retiring after 40 yrs in 2013 as a Contract Coordinator to pursue his love of golf and travel. Survived by wife of 41 yrs, Joy McKie Shoemaker, son Garrett and wife Jeanette, daughter, Gayle Cooksey and husband Scott, grandchildren Kendall & Lucas Cooksey, Rhya & Grayson Shoemaker. Also survived by mother Dorothy Shoemaker, sister Carolyn Shoemaker, brother David Shoemaker (Sands) all of Pennsville. Brothers-in-law John (Bubba) McKie (Debbie) Turnersville, Joe McKie (Forest) of Pennsville and Jerome McKie of Pennsville, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by father, William D Shoemaker and in-laws Scott and Cissie McKie.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM on Friday August 26, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Pennsville where friends may call Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Burial will be at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown.
