Janet Agnew, age 86, of Pennsville died Monday May 20th at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA. Born in Carbondale, PA to the late William and Mae Tolley, Janet graduated valedictorian from Carbondale High School. She went on to graduate from Misercordia School of Nursing and later, received a Masters of Nursing from Glassboro State College. After moving to Pennsville, Janet worked for the Visiting Nurse Association of Southern New Jersey. She was later employed as a school nurse for the Pennsville Board of Education. Janet served as a public health advocate, educator and clinician for more than 45 years at Deepwater Elementary, Central Park Elementary and Pennsville Middle School. She was a member of Queen of Apostles RC Church of Pennsville, Sakima Country Club of Carnys Point, DuPont Country Club of Wilmington, DE Pennsville Historical Society and Senior Circle of Salem County Memorial Hospital. Survived by her sons James and wife Chris of Pembroke, MA and Brian and wife Patty of Olathe, KS; grandson CJ Agnew; two step-grandsons, Sean and Ryan Goodman of Pembroke, MA; She was predeceased by her husband James and her brother Robert Tolley, Friends may call Saturday May 25th, from 10:00AM to 11:00 AM at Laughrey Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Queen of the Apostles RC Church of Pennsville at 11:30AM. Burial will be at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions in Janet's memory be made to St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 369 Georgetown Rd. Carney's Point, NJ 08069.
