Dear David, Bethann, Raymond and Marie,
I am deeply saddened to hear of your mother's passing. She was not only my godmother, but she was an inspiration to me. The last time I saw her was at my wedding on May 10, 2008, she apologized profusely that she couldn't stay as she was very sick that day, but she said she wanted to see her "little Gracie in her wedding finery". We hugged the tightest I think we ever did that day. Karen was always a second mother to my mother Debby who grew up living in the house next door. My mother passed in 2006 from cancer, and knowing that she and Karen are no longer suffering, but perhaps making each other laugh and sharing a spot of tea in heaven, brings me much needed comfort. Please accept my sincerest condolences. It has been a very long time since I have seen all of you and if you'd like to keep in touch, I would be happy to. When your mother was doing her reenactments, I sold her some very old antiques, a coral and gold georgian era cross pendant, a Georgian sewing case filled with all sorts of implements and a late 1700s gold "mourning" ring that contained a tiny piece of hair. I like to think that she wore the antique jewelry with pride and used the very early sewing accessories during her reenactments. She was a beautiful person inside and out. I will always miss her.

Mrs. Karen and I used to exchange books back and forth across the street from each other. She was a great listener when we were going through the addoption of DJ. I have missed her talks with me since I moved. Will be missed deeply.

She is Gone
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Dear Marie, David, Raymond, BethAnn and families,
I am deeply saddened to hear of your mother's passing. She has been and always will be one of the most important women in my life. She and your father were always very good to me - your mother, especially, when I needed her the most. She touched my life in so many loving ways - I'll never forget her. I'm very sorry for your loss. May God comfort you all during this very difficult time.

The greatest mom anyone could have. A heart big enough for more 'adopted' kids & grand kids than can be remembered
