I never met Bud in person but came to know him through the literary magazine, The Sun. We have been pen pals since before Lily was born. His adoration for his family and the way he delighted in the life of his granddaughter was a boundless inspiration. His encouragement and love of the arts a fountain of youth. After several unanswered emails, I googled him this morning (as I prepare to leave for a Celebration of Life for my mother-in-law) only to find he's moved on from this world.
My heart is so full for having him in my life -- so heavy for knowing our last exchanges were truly our last.
I loved him dearly.
I wish his entire family the peace of knowing he was so beloved and send every positive energy your way toward the abyss of your loss. I hope wherever we go in the sweet hereafter, he may find my mother-in-law and they can have share a moment looking down on me and seeing how they both so changed my very soul.
Be well Cole family. Your husband, father, grandfather and friend lives vibrantly in my heart forever.
I leave you with a small sampling of the poetry he attached to a few of our exchanges and prayers for you all.

He will be missed. May he rest in peace. I will miss our poetry discussions through Allpoetry but I will cherish the memory also. Bud was wise, kind and talented.
