Robert James Ray, affectionately referred to as "Bob" or "Bobby", 71, of Rock Hill and formerly of Pennsville, NJ, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Atrium Health Hospital in Charlotte. He was born December 17, 1948 in Salem, NJ, son of the late George Beldon Ray, Sr. and Leona Sammons Ray.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Beldon Ray, Jr. and sister, Deborah Wood.
Bob retired from the Pennsville, NJ Recreation Department after many years of dedicated service. He adored kids and became a father figure to many. He was an avid sports lover and a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was the best husband, "Daddy" and an even better grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Jean Ray; daughter, DeeAnne "Dee" Ray Neal of Rock Hill; grandsons, Robert Scott Neal and Hunter Lewis Neal; and sister, Darlene Anuszewski of Shallotte, NC.
