Obituary of Steven J. Neicen

Please share a memory of Steven to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Steven J. Neicen, age 61 of Pennsville passed away on Wednesday, July1st. He was born May 11th, 1959 in Salem, NJ to the late Edward Neicen and Theresa Lawless Neicen. Following graduation from Pennsville Memorial High School, Steve proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and the Army National Guard. Steve worked many jobs throughout his life, including his business All Weather Builders. He most enjoyed working alongside his friend Jimmy at Luciano Construction, where they constructed many beautiful homes and businesses. Steve was the jack of all trades. However, he was the master at one.. carpentry. He will long be remembered for all of the work he had done for friends, often never accepting payment. His passion and skills are shown around Pennsville on businesses. He loved to customize cedar wooden baskets and signs. His favorite thing to do was making his grandsons Halloween costumes to be pulled on the wagon. Steve had a love for being on the water. Many weekends were spent on the boat, walking along the river, and even moving to South Carolina for a period of time to be at the ocean. He also loved to set up golf course challenges in his apartments for he and his friends. The proudest thing Steve loved to do was making sure everyone had food to eat. Nobody ever went hungry with Steve around. Steve is survived by his two children: Chad Neicen and Stevie Winfield (Greg); Grandchildren Chloe and Mackenzie Neicen, Greyson and Garrett Winfield; Siblings Mike, Tim, and Tracey. Steve also leaves behind many friends and family. However, the most heartbreaking one he leaves behind is his dog, Gracie Sue who was the love of Steve's life. Services will be private with only immediate family. As Steve longed to make sure others had food, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to his grandson, Greyson Winfield at: 270-B Country Manor Dr, Conway, SC 29526. All donations to Greyson will go to Helping Footprint to feed those in need during this pandemic. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
