Frances Sauermilch, age 79 of Pennsville, died Friday, May 1rst following a long illness. Born in Elsinboro NJ, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Sarah Hillman of Deepwater. Fran was a 1959 graduate of Pennsville Memorial High School and in 1961 she married her one and only true love William (Huck) Sauermilch. Together they raised two children. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Fran worked for many years volunteering for local organizations from Den Mother, Class of 1959 Pennsville Reunion Committee, local Jaycee-ette President and Chairman for Needlework Guild of America. She enjoyed working with the Alumni Association on proms and class play sets. She went on to spend 25 years at the Local, County & State levels of PTA, serving as local unit President at Penn Beach Elementary, County Council President for Salem County. Her State PTA positions included Region V Director, State Procedure & Bylaws Chairman, Field Service Chairman and State Convention Chairman. She was a life time member of the Needlework Guild of American, New Jersey State PTA and National PTA. She touched may lives and will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her Husband William T. Sauermilch Jr, Sisters Ethel Schneider Volmar of Glouster, Edna Schaeffer of Florida and Carolyn Scull of Salem. Survived by Sister Pat Oliver (Joe) of Pennsville; Son William T. Sauermilch III (Joannie) of Pennsville; Daughter Laraine Peel (Jim) of Pennsville. Grandchildren: William T. Sauermilch IV (Arielle) of Woodbury, Jasmine Bigler (Bert) of Woodstown, James III and Jacob Peel of Pennsville. Great Grandchildren: Kelsey and Bert Bigler of Woodstown and Audrey Sauermilch of Pennsville. A private service will be held on Wednesday, May 6th at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in her name be made to help with food givaway from COVID pandemic Mid-Atlantic states career and education center Attn: Glen Donelson 111 South Broadway Pennsville NJ 08070
