Obituary of Edna Anne Cox
Please share a memory of Edna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edna Anne Cox, 87, of Pennsville passed away on February 22, 2020 in the presence of her family (10 years to the day of her husband Teds passing 02/22/2010) from complications due to cancer and a fall that resulted in a broken hip. Born in Penns Grove, New Jersey she was the daughter of the late Vandever (Bud) Homan and Mary Homan (nee Barrett).
Anne was well known throughout the township and county. She could be seen along with her pre-deceased husband Ted at all Pennsville athletic functions. She spent countless hours following Little League, Softball, Football, Hockey, Baseball and Wrestling.
She was a Cub Scout Pack leader about 58 years ago when it was unheard of a woman crossing the line. She always did what she had to do to keep values moving forward.
She was a volunteer Girl Scout Cookie Grandmom.
She worked at DuPont in her earlier years and was the Manager of Penn Bowl Bowling Alley. She was a very skilled and compassionate bowling instructor and spent many Saturday mornings teaching local youth the sport of bowling. She was also on many league teams. She especially enjoyed the Friday night mixed-double League and then the Crescendo Lounge with her husband Ted.
She loved her family more than anything in the world. She had a very kind heart and would do anything for anybody. She loved her pets Deuce (German Shepard) and Ginger (Yoshon–Bishon/Yorkie).
She was especially proud of maintaining her yard and continued to do so through this past summer.
She wanted me to tell everyone that she loved them all.
She leaves behind to carry on her life and legacy, her daughter Wendy Green (Arvin), her son Ted Jr. (Wendi), her grandchildren, Tami Mowers-Thomas (Jamy), Brittany (Cox) Williams (Bob), Grandson Shane Cox and Great Granddaughters Makayla Thomas, Brynn Williams and soon to be April birth of Everly Williams. She was predeceased by her brother Jack Homan.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM on Wednesday February 26th at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Pennsville Eagles Parents Athletic Association. 110 South Broadway, Pennsville,
