Obituary of Jean C. Smith

Jean Smith, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2020. She was born on November 17, 1931 in Pennsylvania. Jean was born again when she made a commitment to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and continued walking with Him until God called her home. Jean married Bob Smith on April 7, 1950 and had two children, Barbara and Robert Jr. She called Pennsville her family home. Jean was a stay at home mom. Eventually she received her Associates degree and was a substitute teacher for the Pennsville School District. She also worked at Pinebrook Book Store. She was an excellent dancer whose dream was to become a Radio City Rockette in New York City! Jean was an excellent Sunday School teacher at Pennsville Assembly of God for many years. She also was the choir director who directed many holiday programs. She founded the South Jersey Women's Aglow Fellowship, teaching and bringing in many inspirational speakers. Jean is responsible for leading many to the Lord through the Women's Aglow as well as her personal testimony of God's goodness. She is pre-deceased by her husband Bob Smith, her mother Gladys Garrison, her father H.T. Christman, Jean is survived by her daughter Barbara Lawrence, and grandson John Lawrence,; her son Robert Jr, daughter-in-law Nancy, granddaughters Tina Shughart and Stacey Smith, her brother Bill Garrison, sister Linda Auwarter, and brother Gary Christman. Known by her family as "Gaga", she was a gracious and loving friend to all and will be dearly missed. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
