Robert D. Demery,Sr. age 84 of Pennsville died Monday December, 23, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Nutley, NJ to the late George L. Demery and Isabelle Moore Demery. Robert was a longtime Pennsville resident.
He was employed as a carpenter for the DuPont Chambers Works, where he retired in 1991 following over 20 years service. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean war and was a member of the Pennsville VFW and the American Legion.
Survived by his children, Robert D. "Rocky" Demery and his wife Va-Lynn of Pennsville, David T. Demery and his husband Robert of Florida, Sheryl L. Perry and husband William of Carneys Point, Michelle Kamenakis, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by his wife Sara L. Cottrell Demery (1993), Daughter Georgia Baxter, Brothers, William and George Demery, sisters, Elizabeth Freeman, and Isabelle Soltysik
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday December 28th at the Laughrey Funeral Home Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove.
