Obituary of August Sylvestro, Jr.

August Sylvestro, Jr. age 75 of Pennsville died Friday June 3, 2011 at the Christiana Hospital. He was born in Salem and was the son of the late Augustino and Bettina DePalao Sylvestro. August was a lifelong Salem County resident. He was employed as a pipefitter at the DuPont Chambers Works, Deepwater where he retired following 33 years service. He served in the National Guard and enjoyed woodworking, camping at the Jersey Shore, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Survived by his wife 52 years Mary Ann Wilbraham, children, Debbie Sorrels and her husband Perry, Tom Sylvestro and his wife Jennifer and John Sylvestro and his wife Tammy, brother, Joseph, sisters Sue Scarfo, Angie Gioia, Louise Arcidiacono, Edith Frabsile, Josephine DiBartolo, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Predeceased by a brother, Anthony, Vito, Thomas, and Frank and a sister, Lena Picchi. Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Tuesday June 7th at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be private.
