Obituary of James H. Jones, Jr.

James H. Jones Jr. of Pennsville, NJ, went to the great golf course in the sky on Saturday, August 4, 2018. He was born on September 7, 1947 in Havre De Grace, Maryland, son of the late James H. Jones Sr. and Roseanne Riale. He served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. James was perhaps most well-known as the owner of Pennsville Tire & Auto from 1981 to his retirement in 2017. But there was so much more to Jimmy than his dedication to his business. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He never missed a chance to see his granddaughters perform in dance competitions or play sports. He was an avid cheese hater and an ice cream enthusiast. He loved to golf and looked forward to his yearly trips to Myrtle Beach to hit the links with his dearest friends. James is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth Jones; his children, Kevin Jones, Amy Freas and her husband Steve, and Mark Jones and his wife Janelle Anderson; granddaughters Madison and Taylor; siblings, Ronnie, Jerry, Mary, Katie, Mae, Darlene, Willy, Patty, and Buddy and is pre-deceased by his sister Sherry. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday August 9, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
