Gordon R. Mitchell, age 85 of Pennsville passed away on Saturday January 20, 2018 at the Cooper University Medical Center, Camden, NJ. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and was the son of late Elwood and Doris Crispen Mitchell. Gordon was a longtime Pennsville resident. He was employed as a warehouse manager for the former Anchor Hocking Glass Company where he retired following many years service. He also worked for the DuPont Company at Chambers Works in Deepwater, NJ. Gordon enjoyed horseback riding, tooling leather, gardening and ball room dancing. Survived by his wife of 65 years Catherine L. Hurley Mitchell, son, Darryl R. Mitchell and his wife Karen of Ellicott City, MD and granddaughters, Shannon and Noelle, brother, Norman Mitchell of Pilesgrove. Predeceased by sisters, Audrey Dorell, and Carol Ann Mitchell. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday January 26, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com.
