Obituary of Frank H. Davis

Frank H. Davis passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2017. He turned 90 on November 1. Frank was an adoring husband to his wife Anna for 51 years, who predeceased him on December 4, 2001. He loved his family, and was a lifelong Phillies and Eagles fan. Frank was born in Salem on November 1, 1927 and was a 1945 graduate of Salem High School. He served as a Corporal in the US Army in the Pacific Theater in the 24th Infantry Division in the last days of World War II. He spent the majority of his career with E.I. DuPont Graphic Arts Center, in Boothwyn, Pa. He and his family lived in Pennsville from 1950. Frank was predeceased by his wife Anna, his mother and father Roland and Lottie Davis and brother Roland. He is survived by his brothers Edward and Richard, son Gary, daughter Nancy (Sommers) and son Glen. His children were his pride and joy and they will miss him dearly. He was a loving Grandfather to Shannon and Jeremy Davis and Jessie Lyn and Jason Sommers as well as Great Grandson Jameson Sommers. He was also a loving Uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Frank enjoyed fishing at Fortescue and the Delaware River and the outdoors, spending many hours taking regular walks around Riverview Park. In later years he played the slot machines in Atlantic City and Delaware Park and was a regular at Bingo games around the area. He was also a fixture at sporting events for his grandchildren. He was a cat lover, especially Tigger who spent the last 17 years of his life with Frank. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Laughrey Funeral Home in Pennsville where friends can call from 10-11:00 prior to the service. Interment will take place at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro immediately following services.
