Obituary of Barbara J. McDaniel

Barbara J. Zampino McDaniel, Child of God, Loving Wife, Proud Mother, and Amazing Grandmother, entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday, December 3, 2017. Born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on July 6, 1961, she enjoyed her childhood days in Spotswood, New Jersey where she meet the Love of her life Lawrence George McDaniel at the age of three. Barbara joined the U.S. Army while completing her senior year of high school, the first graduating class of Spotswood High School, class of 1979, she then served her country for three years based in Germany. Barbara and Larry married February 14, 1982 and enjoyed 35 years of traveling throughout Larry's NAVY military career, which lead them to Iceland, Virginia, Florida, Alabama, Spain, California, and home to New Jersey. The travel bug did not end there Barbara and Larry enjoyed six years traveling the US in Georgie, their motor home, taking them to new adventures daily and meeting lifelong friends along the way. Barbara held a special place in her heart for her pets throughout the years (Lucky, Roo, and My Girl). She is an active member of Harvest Time Worship Center in Salem, New Jersey, with her latest mission, Samaritan's Purse, shoebox program. Barbara was a proud and amazing mother to two girls Michelle Ann McDaniel (Creedon) of Springfield, VA, and Julia Maria Rapp (McDaniel) married to Travis Rapp of Pennsville, NJ. She was blessed with four Grand-children, and truly loved every moment with them, A.J. Levesque-11, Jordan Creedon-9, Joseph Rapp-5, and Abigail Rapp-3. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Robert Zampino and Agnes Zampino (Brennan) and sister Kathleen Ashworth (Zampino). She is survived by her four sisters Ginny DeOreo (Thompson, Pa) Peggy Dobbs (Oro Valley, AZ) Sue Turner (Spotswood, NJ) and Ann Zampino (Monmouth Junction, NJ), as well as many Nieces, Nephews, and Loved Ones. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 at 12pm at Harvest Time Worship Center, 200 Temple Avenue, Salem, New Jersey. Larry and the girls would like to invite you for repast at the VFW, 171 South Broadway, Pennsville New Jersey at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers please make all donations to Samaritan's Purse (samaritanspurse.org) in Barbara's name.
