William F. Carpenter, Sr., age 74 of Pennsville passed away peacefully on Sunday April 3, 2011 at the Christiana Care Hospital, Newark, DE. He was born in Salem and was the son of the late Fleetwood P. and Gladys V. Harris Carpenter. Bill was a longtime Pennsville resident.He was employed as a lab technician for the DuPont Company at the Chestnut Run Site where her retired in 1991 following many years service. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Survived by his daughters, Kimberly Alestock (Walter) of LAC, Daphne Dieffenbach (Randy) of Yardville, and a son William F. Carpenter, Jr. (Mary) of Pennsville 6 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday April 7 at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow.
