Edward S. Heath, age 79 of Newark, DE and a former resident of Salem County went home to be with the Lord on Monday March 28, 2011 at the Christiana Care Hospital, Newark. He was born in Buckingham, PA and was the son of the late Harry and Lorraine Griffith Heath. Edward attended high school in Bangor, PA and served in the Navy during the Korean War aboard the Aircraft Carrier WASP. When the former W.T. Grant Store opened in Pennsville he was the manager. He then owned and operated stores in Pennsville including Lad & Lassie, Children's Store, Kim Elizabeth Women's Junior Clothes & Dress Shop, and Heath's Ladies Apparel. Following retirement he went to work at Macy's Department Store. He was a member of the St. George's Episcopal Church of Pennsville and served on the Vestry, served on the Salem Community College Board of Trustees as a member and president, and collected for the Salvation Army as a bell ringer. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Marion Carey Heath, daughter, Kim E. Heath Maza, son, Kenneth E. Heath, grandchildren, Julie Wilson, Lindsey Maza, Robert Maza and Darbey Maza. Predeceased by a son Kristopher E. Heath (1995) Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday March 31, at the St. George's Episcopal Church, Pennsville. Burial will follow at Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 10:45 at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville prior to the church service.
