Obituary of Iola N. Reuter

Iola May Reuter, age 94 of Pennsville went to be with the Lord Sunday May 7, 2017. She was born July17, 1922 in Bronxville, NY and grew up in Tuckahoe, NY. She worked as a telephone switch board operator in Bronxville, N.Y. with New York Bell, then with N.J. Bell after marriage and moving to N.J. She lived in Pennsville for 65 years as a DuPont wife and three years with caring staff at Juniper Village-Wellspring in Williamstown, N.J. Throughout her life in Pennsville, Iola worked as a telephone operator in Penns Grove, People's Bank in Carneys Point, and Pennsville Jr. H.S. as cafeteria cashier for many years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of Eastern Star for 70years. She was a long-time member of the Salem County Sportsmans Club where she loved to socialize and swim in the lake almost every day during the summer months. Iola was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She made friends wherever she went and established life-time friendships within her close-knit neighborhood and community. She also enjoyed family camping with the Pennsville Skeeters. Iola was predeceased by her loving husband, Youngs F. Reuter, four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her son, Alan F. Reuter (Eileen) and daughter, Janice R. Ganzemuller (Albert); five grandchildren, Amy Kite (Rich), Alan Andrew Reuter (Joy), Brian Reuter (Dianna), Tommy Nicholson (Marianne), and Kristen Nicholson; three great grandchildren, Brad, Allison, and Ben Kite, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday May 13, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 75 S. Broadway, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown.
