Obituary of Arthur L. Salin

Arthur L Salin, 98, of Pennsville, NJ, passed away on March 28, 2017. He was born In Brazil, Indiana on May 25, 1918 to Jewell and Archie Salin. He was predeceased by 3 sisters: Agnes, Evie and Virginia and 2 brothers: Archie and Stanley. He was married to Hazel Mae Woods who died on July, 1976. Arthur and Hazel had three children: daughter, Carole S. Boos died on Nov, 2013 and is survived by his son in law Richard Boos, granddaughter Carole Ann Boos and grandson Richard Boos and great grandchildren Nicholas and Mollie Boos. His son, William Salin and daughter in law Sveta Salin, granddaughter Catherine Derrow and Michelle Glass, great grandchildren Gabi, Dovi and Rafi Derrow and Clara Glass and grandson John Salin. Daughter, Jewel Chrustowski, and grandchildren Peter, Shelly and Renee Chrustowski. He later remarried Doris Gracey who also passed in April, 2011. In his years of life, Arthur mastered many talents and skills, including remodelling houses, building cabinets, tiling bathrooms and putting new roofs on homes. His many jobs included working for the Railway Express, the DuPont Company in Indiana and then relocating to the DuPont plant in Deepwater, NJ where he worked as an Instrument Mechanic until he retired and moved to Florida to enjoy life. He was also an accomplished jazz guitarist and played in many bands over the years including clubs in Chicago, Las Vegas and Florida. He was an avid Amateur Radio Operator and talked to other radio operators all over the world including Pitcairn Island where he conversed with people that descended from the mutineers of HMAV Bounty (Munity on the Bounty). He was a 32degree Mason. Arthur requested a private burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, In., with only immediate family attending. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
