Ronald J. Marquette, age 79 of Pennsville passed away peacefully Friday March 18, 2016 after a long series of illnesses. Ron was born in Danville, PA and was the son of the late Kenneth A. and Virginia Augustine Marquette. He was a longtime Pennsville resident. Ron graduated from Salem high school and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was quarterback of the football team.
He worked at DuPont Chambers Works, Westinghouse and retired from General Motors Corporation.
Survived by his wife, Elizabeth D. Willis Marquette, son, Rollin Marquette, daughter, Rona Marquette, granddaughter, Zoe Fosse, brother, John V. “Jack” Marquette, and sister, Judith M. Lawless.
A Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday March 23, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 75 South Broadway, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will be private. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
