Clement Charles York, Jr., formerly of Pennsville, died at home in Dunnellon, Florida on January 18, 2016. He was born on March 19, 1927 to the late Clement Mitchell York, Sr. and Naomi Batchelor York. Clem was a 1945 graduate of Salem High School. As a teenager he worked at Riverview Beach Park as the operator of the Whip. Clem was very good at snatching the ribbons from the girl's hair as they went by. In 1978 he was working for H.J. Heinz, Co., as the Quality Control Manager, when he was transferred to the company's plant in Tracy, Calif. After retiring from Heinz, Clem and his wife traveled extensively throughout the US in their motor home visiting children and friends until they decided to settle in Dunnellon, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Anna May (nee Pedrick), his children, son Clement Charles York III of Calif., daughters Maryellen York and Jayne York (Paullippie) of Pennsville, and Peggie York of North Carolina; sister Miriam (Rockey) Poeta of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. No local services are planned. Interment at Seaside UMC, North Carolina.
