Winifred M. Berger, age 91, of Pennsville, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Cooper Univ. Medical Center. She was born in Gettysburg, PA, to Dr. Edgar A. and Winifred L. Miller (Glatfelder). She was the widow of John E. Berger, retired Pennsville Memorial HS teacher, to whom she was married for 59 years.Winifred graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics and was a longtime Nittany Lions and Phillies baseball fan. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Carney's Point where she was active for many years. As well, Winifred volunteered with the American Legion, VFW, Boy Scouts of America, PTA, and was member of Pennsville Library Assoc., Pennsville Historical Society and the Casper Glatfelter Assoc. of America. She taught Home Ec at Pennsville Memorial HS and enjoyed being a homemaker as well. Mom enjoyed most spending time with family. She was a good neighbor and friend who will be sadly and truly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son Randy Berger of North Carolina, and daughters, Winnie Milligan and Eliz. Joy Berger, both of Pennsville. Predeceased by her brother and sister, a neice and granddaughter Danielle Milligan. Our mother also leaves behind 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM on Thursday Feb. 11, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 AM prior to the service.
