James E. Mahoney, age 85 of Pennsville died peacefully at home on January 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pennsville and was the son of the late Frank J. and Elizabeth Guerin Mahoney. Jim graduated from Salem High School in 1948 and the University of Delaware in 1955. He was employed as a Specialist Mechanic for the DuPont Chambers Works where he retired in 1985 following 30 years service and joined his wife Eileen in establishing Mahoney Reality. He was a Korean War Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eileen McMackin Mahoney, children, Theresa Dempsey (Dave), Carol Smith (Richard), Thomas J. Mahoney (Tamara) Kathleen Starcevich (John), brothers, Frank and Edward Mahoney and a sister, Dorothy Bunting, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Dolbow, and Marie Wyshinski Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday Jan. 9, at the Queen of the Apostles RC Church, Pennsville. Friends may call Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Laughrey Funeral Home Pennsville. Burial will be at the St. Josephs Cemetery, Woodstown. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
