Obituary of Gustav Jensen

The Reverend Gustav Jensen, 96 closed his eyes to sleep and opened them in the presence of Jesus, on Thursday, November 19, 2015 in his home. Gustav was born of Norwegian Immigrants, August 19, 1919 and was raised in Staten Island, New York, where he met and married the love of his life the late Lena (Dudas) Jensen. He is survived by his sister, Esther Godneck, his four children, Ruthann Ericksen, Dr. Fred Jensen, Thomas Jensen, and Lois Jensen. He especially enjoyed his 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter, and his dog Baby. Gustav was a man who deeply loved his family, supporting them by his skill as a carpenter and his fervent prayers. He loved to preach, teach, and tell others about Jesus Christ whom he worshipped faithfully in song and life. He was a biblical scholar in his own right studying and researching the scriptures daily. He was a man of character and integrity, and stood for what he believed. He was a loving Christian man to his family and community. He is and will be supremely missed. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday November 24, from the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 9:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
