Edward Boon Donelson age 86 of Pennsville, passed away Saturday February 12 at the Veterans Home in Vineland NJ. Ed was born in Carneys Point, NJ on December 17th 1925. Ed served in World War II as a Corporal in the US Marines (5th Medical BN, 4th Marine Div.) in the Pacific Campaign (including Iwo Jima). He retired from The Wilmington News Journal Company in 1986 with 36 years of service. Ed was past President of the Pennsville Rotary Club, Pennsville Republican Club and the Pennsville School Board. He was also a past member of the Skeeters Club, the Salem County Sportsmen Club and the Pennsville Planning Board. Ed is survived by his Daughter, Diane McAllister Linn and Son-in-law Wayne Linn of Pennsville, his Son, Gary L. Donelson and daughter-in-law, Deborah Donelson of Pennsville, Grand children, Brian E. McAllister, Gary Donelson, Jr., and Jennifer Saunders and Great Grandchildren Reagan McAllister, Jonathan Geary and Jacob Grant. Ed is also survived by his sisters Shirley Wood and Carolyn Manny. Ed is predeceased by his dear wife Mary, brothers Karl and William and parents Freda and Edward Donelson, Sr. Funeral Services 1:00 PM Tuesday February 15, 2011 at Laughrey Funeral Home in Pennsville. Friends may call between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Interment will follow at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery in Mannington.
