Obituary of Elva F. Craven

Elva F. Craven, age 97 a former longtime resident of Pennsville, NJ passed away Tuesday July 28, 2015 at the Southgate Health Care Center, Carneys Point. She was born in Salem to the late Anne and Leo Styron. Elva graduated from Salem High School, class of 1936. She and her husband Marty moved to Pennsville where they raised their three children. They were longtime members of Queen of the Apostles Church in Pennsville. Elva worked for the DuPont Company retiring in 1980 as a secretary in the engineering dept. at the Louviers Site. After her retirement, she and Marty traveled to Europe and especially enjoyed visiting the Vatican Throughout the years, Elva was a very active member of the Grand Temple of New Jersey Pythian Sisters Lodge being named Grand Chief in 1992. In her later years, Elva participated in bowling in ladies leagues in Pennsville and Woodstown. She bowled well into her eighties. Elva was always and animal lover and had may dogs and cats throughout the years. She most enjoyed sitting on her porch watching the birds with her beloved cat Buyddy. She looked forward to spending time with her family and was a loving, generous and devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend.
