William G. Friant, age 64 of Pennsville died Tuesday November 25, 2014 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Elsmere, DE. He was born in Salem and is the son of Phyllis M. Coulbourn Friant and the late Elmer M. Friant, Sr. Bill was a lifelong Pennsville resident.
He was employed as a carpenter, working for several local contractors. He was a Vietnam War Navy Veteran and a member of the Pennsville VFW Post 1952 and the American Legion Post 297.
Besides his mother he is survived by brothers, Edward, and Melvin Friant, sisters, Sharon Flickinger, and Jean Wright, longtime companion Lea Simpkins and her children, William Buckalew, Sarah Moriarty,and Brenda Delanzo.
Predeceased by a brother Elmer Friant, Jr.and a sister, Phyllis Jones
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday Dec. 2, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
