Charles J. "Fin" Sooy, Sr. age 81 of Pennsville died on Wednesday January 19, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Bridgeton and was the son of the late Jesse and Cecilia Pharo Sooy. Fin was a lifelong area resident. He was employed stockman for General Motors, Newport Plant where he retired in 1986 following 35 years service and a member of UAW local 435 Wilmington, DE, a longtime member of the Queen of the Apostles Church of Pennsville and a Navy Veteran. Survived by 3 sons, Charles J. Sooy, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Bourne, MA, James W. Sooy and his wife Cindy of Newark, DE, and Donald Sooy and his wife Patty of Newark, DE, brother, Richard M. Sooy, Sr. of Pennsville, sister, Ethel Mae "Did" Greco, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Nathaniel "Doc" Youker of Pennsville Predeceased by his wife Virginia Youker Sooy (2000), brother, James Sooy.
