Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James Michael Duffy, 78, passed away at home, Sunday, September 21, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. Millie, his loving wife of 55 years, and son Mark were at his side. He was born in Salem, grew up in Woodstown and Millville, and moved to Pennsville after marriage. After serving four years in the United States Navy, he attended Temple University, and then began a 38-year career as a millwright. He loved reading, the water, but above all else, his family. An avid outdoorsman, he was a runner, kayaker, and ocean-certified SCUBA diver. He is survived by his wife Mildred, son Mark, daughter-in-law Georgina, and sisters Patricia Key and Diane Lehman. He is predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Mary and Russell Boger. A visitation with the family will be held this Monday, September 29th at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Pennsville from 10-11:00am, followed immediately by a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of James Michael Duffy may be made to either the Trinity United Methodist Church, Rt. 49 & Church St., Pennsville, NJ 08070, or the Helen Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown Stanton Rd., Newark, DE 19713. The family would like to thank their church family for all their support and love during this trying time. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
