Gilbert R. "Babe" Waddington, age 83 of Carney's Point, died on Wednesday January 19, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Carney's Point and was the son of late Cecil and Florence Rostaing Waddington. Babe was a lifelong Salem County resident. He was employed as a millwright out of Local 1545, Wilmington for over 50 years. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. He enjoyed boating and flea markets. Babe also owned and operated Oyster King Seafood in Pennsville for 10 years. Survived by his wife of 62 years Frances Garrison Waddington, sons, Gilbert Waddington, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Millsboro, DE, Terry L. Waddington and his wife Jeanmaire of Pennsville, daughter, Linda Colvard and her husband Neal of Pennsville, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Predeceased by a sister, Doris Ogletree, and a brother James Waddington. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday Jan 22nd at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Union Presbyterian Church, Shell Rd. Carney's Point, NJ 08069 or the Memorial Home Health, Hospice of Salem County, 390 N. Broadway, Pennsville, NJ 08070.
