Norma Jean Wiedl, age 76 of Pennsville died Monday January 17, 2011 at the Friends Village at Woodstown. She was born on November 12, 1934 in New Kensington, PA to the late Sidney and Margaret Achenne VanDervort. Norma Jean was a longtime Pennsville resident. She was a graduate of Citizens General Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. Norma Jean worked as a Registered Nurse on the maternity floor at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County from 1957 to present. Member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Pennsville, Pennsville Womens Club, the Senior Circle and was a former member of the Septemberfest Committee. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards with her friends and golfing She was married to the late Albert Wiedl on Aug 13, 1955. He died in 2008. Survived by her children, Lori Woodruff and her husband Steve of Pennsville, Craig Wiedl of Pennsville and Troy Wiedl of Pennsburg, PA, brothers, Dr. Robert VanDervort of Elyria, Ohio and Ronald VanDervort and his wife Lois of New Kensington, PA, grandchildren, Jill Woodruff of Pennsville, Jared Woodruff and his wife Josephine of Port St. Lucie, FL and Jenna Woodruff of Collingswood, NJ. Besides her husband Albert, Norma Jean was predeceased by a son Todd Wiedl (1980). Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Sat. Jan. 22nd at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Burial will be at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Pennsville Visiting Nurses Association, 14 N. Broadway, Pennsville, NJ 08070.
