Charles "Bud" Frederick Thomas, age 91, Ocean City, NJ, formerly of Camden and West Deptford, on January 25, 2014. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Barbara H. Thomas. A proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Bud served honorably as an Aviation Machinist Mate 2nd Class in VPB-108, a PB4Y-2 Privateer squadron that operated from the Central Pacific Islands of Kwajalein, Truk, Peleliu, Tinian, and Iwo Jima. Bud was a dedicated employee of the Campbell Soup Company for over 35 years. Since 1968, he and his wife Barbara owned The Sea Gull Shop in Ocean City, NJ, which became a gathering place for generations of families and fishermen on the South End. Survived by his sisters-in-law Barbara Milewski and Joanne Zubrzycki, and many nieces and nephews. His kindness and humor will be missed by all. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery (date to be decided).
