Elizabeth Cardy, nee Betty Brown, died at Inspira Hospice on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Prior to her death she resided at Lindsay House, 39 Supawna Rd., Pennsville since March 2013. Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Cardy in August, 2012. They were married for 66 years. Left to celebrate her life and cherish her memory are her daughter Janet and son-in-law James Shelton, son James K. Cardy, grandson Michael J. Cardy, sisters and brother-in-laws Catherine and Ed Parker, Eileen and Dave Bailey, and Jeanne and Ellio Chiacchio, brothers and sisters-in-law Patrick and Beverly Brown and William and Bette Brown, sister-in-laws Jenny Brown, Joan Brown, Peg Brown, and Mona Brown, sister-in-law Kathy Yuill and her family in Canada, and a host of nieces and nephews in the Brown family. Born in Alva Scotland on September 16,1924, Betty followed her father to the United States with her mother and two older brothers in 1927. She resided in Toronto, Canada when she married her husband, Jim. They immigrated to New Jersey with their two children in 1954 and lived in Carneys Point for nearly 60 years. A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3 at Calvary Baptist Church, Georgetown Rd., Carneys Point. The funeral service will follow immediately.
