Michael Conrad Riley, 54, of Pennsville, NJ, died Saturday, September 14th, surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. He will be remembered for his quick wit, dry humor and his "Sid Runs". He was born to Sidney and Joan Riley on July 29, 1959 in Salem, NJ. Michael graduated from Pennsville Memorial High School in 1977 and received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University in 1981. He married Frances Ryan in 1984, and they lived in Pennsville, NJ for the past 25 years. Michael, most recently worked for Shellysons as an Estimator/Project Manager. Previously, he worked for Tri-M Corporation for almost 20 years, initially as a Project Manager and, later, earned the position of Vice-President. When he first graduated from Penn State, Michael worked for E.C.Ernst (PA and TX), Maron Electric (TX) and Coastal Electric (DE). Michael was a member of Pennsville Assembly of God Church. He previously served as President of the Pennsville Rotary Club and was a member of ABC, Inc. In his free time, Michael loved to golf, fish, boat and watch Penn State games. He achieved a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and taught himself to play guitar. Over the years, Michael enjoyed spending time with friends: Kevin, Steve, Stephen, Craig, Curt, Matt, Smitty, John, Rotary friends, and college friends-the Behrend Boys. Michael is survived by his wife, Fran, their two sons: Michael R. Riley of Wilmington, DE and Brian K. Riley of Pennsville, NJ, his father: Sid Riley of Elsinboro, NJ, his sister: Sydney Cochran and her husband, Tom, of Illinois, as well as his niece, Krista and her husband, David, and nephews: Tom, Forrest, Colten and Casey. He was predeceased by his mother, A. Joan Riley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity, or to the Penn State Dance Marathon via www.thon.org. The Penn State Dance Marathon is the largest student run philanthropy in the world, and its fundraising supports pediatric cancer research and treatment. Family and friends may visit with the family from 4:00-6:00PM Friday, September 20th, at Pennsville Assembly of God Church located on 328 N. Broadway, Pennsville, NJ. Wear blue and white or your favorite Penn State shirt. There will be a short service and a time to share favorite memories to celebrate Michael's life at 6:00PM. Reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will be private.
