Joan M. Cochran, 79, of Pennsville, NJ, passed away on July 30, 2013 at Christiana Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Joan was born in Shenandoah, PA, on February 15, 1934 as the eldest daughter of the late Thomas X. and Helen Baranonsky Kelly. She graduated from Saint James High School in 1952 and then later worked for Bell Telephone and E.I. Dupont.

Joan was a wonderful, loving, and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and daughter. She was a selfless and compassionate care giver throughout her life having taken care of many family members and friends in time of need. She will be greatly missed by the many that loved her.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, James W. (Bill) Cochran, her sons, Tom Cochran and his wife Sydney, and Dave Cochran and his wife Kim; grandchildren Krista and husband David, Tom, Connor, and Courtney; and sister Elizabeth Kelly Nuzzi and her husband Tony.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Friday at the Queen of Apostles Church at 391 South Broadway in Pennsville, NJ where friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 AM prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Christiana Care Health System, 13 Reads Way, Ste 203, New Castle, DE 19720.
