Obituary of Shirley M. Snyder

Shirley H. Snyder, age 83 of Pennsville passed away Wednesday July 17, 2013 at her home. She was born in Carneys Point, NJ and was the daughter of the late John A. and Janie V. Gladden Hoover. Shirley was a longtime Pennsville resident. She enjoyed faithfully attending the Bethany Assembly of God Church, Pilesgorve. She worked as a secretary for the Savarese Reality in Carneys Point where she retired. Shirley was dedicated to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pennsville VFW Post 1952 where she served as past president, district president and has attended he last meeting. Survived by her children, Linda J. Matthews and Shirley L. Shoffner of Carneys Point, Janie L. O'Neal of Seaford, DE, and Melvin A. Snyder (Cheryl) of Pennsville, 7 grandchildren, Arthur C. Pullin, III, Brandi L. Pullin, Charles L. Brown, Jr., Tracy L. Brown, Rachel L. Snyder, Emily M. Snyder, and Bridget Stockwell, 16 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Asa Snyder (1991) son, Garry Matthews Snyder (1972), brothers, John A. Hoover, Cyrus P. Hoover. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday July 22, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown.
