Edward F. Chollis, age 72 of Pennsville died Thursday June 20, 2013 at the Christiana Hospital. He was born in Dracut, MA and was the son of the late Chester and Helen Pudlo Chollis. Ed was a longtime Pennsville resident and a 1959 graduate of PMHS. He was employed as a research Technician for the DuPont Experimental Station, Wilmington, DE where he retired in 2000 following 41 years service. Former Member of the Delaware Air National Guard. He was an Eagle Scout and for many years he was on the Salem County Utilities Authority serving as Vice Chairman and Chairman. Currently, Ed was chairman for the Pennsville Sewerage Authority. His passion was gardening and acquired the nickname "Bean" and enjoyed fishing and Republican Politics. Survived by his wife of 50 years Mary Lou Weaver Chollis, Children, John E. Chollis and his wife Linda of Elsinboro, and Kathleen C. Racer and her husband John of Alloway, grandchildren, Drew, Jarred, and Michael. A memorial service will be held 7:30 on Thursday June 27, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 6:00 to 7:30 PM prior to the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Pennsville Visiting Nurses Association, 14 N. Broadway, Pennsville, NJ 08070 or the Salem County Meals on Wheels, 90 Market St., Salem, NJ 08079.
