Obituary of Rosewell Francis Ogden, II

R. Frank Ogden II was born July 9, 1921 as Rosewell Francis Ogden, Junior. R. Frank Ogden II, age 91 of Pennsville Township died Monday June 10, 2013 at his residence. Born in Berkeley, California, son of the late Frank and Frances Allen Ogden. He had resided in Salem County since 1937, graduating from Salem High in 1939. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn. He was a graduate of the University of Delaware, with a degree in chemical engineering. Frank worked as a process and engineering design supervisor in the engineering department of the DuPont Chamber Works until his retirement in 1981, with 37 years service. Mr. Ogden was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving 5 years in the American and European Theatres. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Pennsville. An automobile enthusiast starting with stock car racing during college and later restoration and preservation of classic and antique cars. Gardening, surf fishing and water sports were lifelong hobbies. He and his wife enjoyed square dancing up and down the East Coast for 17 years. Surviving are his son, Robert, daughter-in-law Janet, of Bear, DE, a brother Jack of Eureka, California, a half-brother Billy of Arizona and a half sister Shirley Ann of Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday June 14 at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Aura United Methodist Church Cemetery, Aura, NJ.
