Edwin E. Taylor age 90 of Pennsville passed away on Friday November 23, 2012 with his family by his side at the Seasons Hospice, Newark, DE. He was born in Crown Point, NY and was the son of the late John H. Taylor and Alice and Clarence Thatcher. Edwin was a longtime Pennsville resident. He was employed as a supervisor for the Anchor Hocking Glass Company, Salem where he retired 1980 following 35 years service. Member of the GBBA and a lifetime member of the Pennsville VFW. Edwin was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran and was a Purple Heart recipient after being shot down. Survived by his children, Bonnie L. Hunnings and husband David of Pennsville, Robert E. Taylor and wife Debra of Bear, DE, Kathy A Venuto husband Sam of Pennsville, sisters, Bernice Marcoptte and Anna Mayville of NY, brother, Sherman Thatcher of FL, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife, Judy Simmons Taylor. sisters, Hilda Woods, Bessie Griffin and Joyce LaFave, brother Clarence Thatcher, Jr. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday Nov. 27 at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, 220 Continental Drive, Suite101, Newark, DE 19713.
