Stephen (Steve) C. Baidy, 76, of Pennsville NJ, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday November 15, 2012. Born in Williamsport PA, he was the son of the late Stephen and Agnes Baidy. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1954. He participated in high school basketball, football and track/field. He was All State in basketball in 1954. He received the sportsmanship award during high school. He was also involved in Little League and was batting champ, playing third base and pitcher. He received a scholarship to Penn State in basketball and baseball. In basketball he played forward and was co-captain, lettering in 1956-1958. In baseball he played third base and was National NCAA runner-up. He graduated from Penn State with a degree in Education and from Glassboro State College with a master in education. In 1958 he was in the Marine Corp Reserves and mobilized in Camp Lejeune when fighting broke out in Beirut. He taught at Thaddeus Steven JR High School. He also was a teacher, coach and guidance counselor at Pennsville High School NJ. He was very religious man and was an altar boy in his youth. He was admitted to the PA Hall of Fame-Susquehanna Region. He loved teaching and all sports Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, are his son Jeffrey Stephen, Brother Francis J., and nephew Michael J. Steve is survived by his son David who resides in San Diego, CA., brothers, Paul (Patti) Schenectady, NY., Joseph (Judy) Lititz, PA., Robert (Brenda) Morgantown, WV., sister-in-law Jeannie, Scotia, NY., many nephews and nieces and long time and dear friend Peggy Gibison, Pennsville, NJ. A memorial mass will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday Nov. 20 at the St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, Queen of the Apostles Church, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call from 10:30 to 11:00 AM prior to the Mass. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the charity of donors choice.
