Joseph Leoni, longtime resident of Pennsville, passed away, October 31, 2012 with his family at his side following a short illness at the age of 91. Son of the late Ubaldo and Lucia Leoni. Joe was a very proud loving husband and father. He enjoyed taking walks, watching the Phillies, travelling, gardening and listening to music. Joe was born in Piedi L'Arma, Italy on 10/1/21 and came to the U.S at the age of 15 where he worked on various farms in the Penns Grove area. He was a proud WWII veteran having served for the Marines 1942 - 1945 in the Pacific area including Tarawa Atoll, Gilbert Islands, Okinawa, and Ryukyu Islands. He worked for Dupont Chambers works as an operator for 42 years. Predeceased by his late wife, Ellen (Houck) Leoni 2010 and Martha Jane (Ray) Leoni 1976. Survived by his children: Donna Penn (Bill), Betty Jane Coles, Jo Ann Gilbert (Bill), Joseph Leoni (Sheri) Sisters: Zenaide Cacia and Cordela Chiarelli, and several nieces and nephews. Step children: Ann Wiseman and Bill Budinger (Sharon) of Delaware. 14 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren Predeceased by siblings, Pasqua Albence and Angela Romano, son in Law William Coles III, Grandaughter, Dee Dee Horne, step son in law, Jack Wiseman Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday Nov. 3 at the Laughrey Funeral Home Pennsville where friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 AM prior to the service. Burial with honors will follow at the Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
