Obituary of James W. Flickinger

James W. Flickinger, age 71 of Pennsville died Friday October 12, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County. He was born in Landsdale, PA and was the son of the late Robert Lee and Mary Erven Flickinger. Jim was a lifelong Pennsville resident. He was employed as a control room operator for Atlantic City Electric Company, Deepwater Operating Station where he retired following many years' service. He was a Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a retired Sargent t of the Army Reserves, Pedricktown. He loved the outdoors and you would always find him cutting and splitting wood and he spent many hours at the Green Holy Camp Ground, Dennisville, NJ. He was an avid Phillies fan. Survived by his wife Jane Flickinger, sisters, Roberta Mulford and Ella Lake (Jack) and brother Tom Flickinger (Sharon), stepchildren, Paul Collins and Regina Garrison, 6 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his children, Thomas Smith and Donna James, brothers Frank and Bobby and John Flickinger and sisters Nancy Kurtz and Kathryn Warren. A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM on Thursday October 18, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 6:00 to 7:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans, Memorial Program, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
