Samuel John Wilbraham of Pennsville died peacefully at his home on Tuesday August 21, 2012 at the age of 93. The son of the late Frank Wilbraham and Mary (Ahern) Wilbraham, Sam grew up in Penns Grove and graduate from St. James High School, boasting to be the only boy in his class to do so. Upon graduation he joined the United States Merchant Marines where he proudly served his county and travelled extensively throughout the many seas of the world. Sam was a long time employee of DuPont Chambers Works where he was a foreman in the pipe fabrication shop, retiring after 42 years of service. Sam enjoyed many years of boating and fishing with his children and grandchildren and loved to dance and dine with his friends. Survived by his family, sons Tim and wife Lisa of Stow Creek, Ron and wife Cindy of Alloway and Jack and wife Linda ofAbsecon. Sam is also survived by nine grandchildren, Frances, Jackie, Steven, Jr., Mallory, Brandon, Hunter, Caroline, Andrew and Luke. He is predeceased by his wife Betty Jane, son Steven, his parents Frank and Mary and his five brothers, Howard, Frank,. Joe, Paul and Cliff. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, August 25 at Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown.
