Gertrude M. McCurdy, age 82 of Pennsville died on Monday November 29, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County. She was born in Inman, VA and was the daughter of late William R. and Lillie Mae Brown Upchurch. She was a longtime Pennsville resident. She was a volunteer for the Salem County Meals on Wheels, a member of the VFW ladies Auxiliary Post 1952 of Pennsville, and she loved camping and the outdoors. Survived by her daughters, Carol James and husband Al of Pennsville, and Kathy Santucci and her predeceased husband George, brother, Paul Upchurch of TX, sisters, Nina Wagner, of MD, Susie Ervin of VA, Marie Daniels of TN, grandchildren, Monica Tanner, Alicia Brainard, Lisa Montagna, T.G. Santucci and Eric James, great grandchildren, Amber Johnson, Edward Tanner, Brandon Montagna, Gabriel Montagna, Hunter Brainard, Savannah Brainard, Logan Santucci, Chris Breanna, and Mackenzie McGraw, great great grandson, Wesley Baker, and her beloved dog Ginger. Predeceased by her husband Edward McCurdy (2007) brothers, Jack, Bud, Charles, Lonnie, and Curtis, sister, Vinetta Addison. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM on Friday December 3rd at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Burial will be at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove.
