Mildred R. Fletcher Obituary
Mildred R. Fletcher (nee Wolfe), 86, passed away on Sunday, June 3rd at the Friends Home in Woodstown, NJ. Mildred was the daughter of the late Lester Wolfe and Florence Robinson Wolfe.
Mildred graduated in 1945 as a registered nurse from a program sponsored by the Salem County Chapter American Red Cross and the Office of Civilian Defense. For many years she worked at the Salem County Memorial Hospital and for several local doctors in the area. Her biggest passion was working in the maternity ward delivering the babies. She was a member of the Pennsville Visiting Nurse Association for 18 years and served as President for three years.
For several years, Mildred served as President of The United Methodist Women and Star Circle, Chairperson for the Missions Committee, volunteer with Meals on Wheels, and an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Pennsville for 56 years.
Mildred is survived by her Son-in-law, Clarence K. Hutchinson Jr and his wife Charlaine; Granddaughters, Sandie Kearney and husband Tom, Susan Swiderski and husband John, and Kristi Michelle Levitsky; Great-Grandchildren, Devin & Aidan Kearney and Johnny Swiderski.
Besides her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, John M. Fletcher Jr; Daughters Marianne Fletcher and Jane Hutchinson; and 9 brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held on June 16th, 10am at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Pennsville. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church in Pennsville or the Pennsville Visiting Nurse Association. Burial will be private.
