James C. Commerford, Jr. of Pennsville passed away on June 1, 2012. Born in Carneys Point Township, James was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Commerford, Sr. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from the New Jersey Turnpike Authority in 1996. If you could not find him in Pennsville, just take a trip south to his home away from home on Chincoteague Island, Virginia. Known as a regular at many local establishments on the island, he was always up for a good conversation. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother John "Jack" Commerford. James is survived by his son John S. Commerford, his sister Lillian Klieforth, and four niece's; Catherine Dailey and her husband Mark, Jacalyn Trout, Carol Fox and her husband Gary and Joan Tauss and her husband James. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in James' name to the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company, 4028 Main Street Chincoteague Island, VA 23336 or to the Pennsville Visiting Nurses Association, 14 North Broadway Pennsville, NJ 08070.
