Obituary of Victor J. Pyla, Sr.

Victor James "Jim" Pyla, Sr. age 75 of Pennsville died Wednesday February 22, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Wilmington, DE and was the son of the late Eleanor Pyla (1952). Victor was a lifelong Pennsville resident. He worked as an operator for the Wiley Cork Company, Wilmington, DE where he retired in 2001 with 30 years service. He formerly worked for Crown Cork and Seal in Wilmington, DE for 12 years. Social member of the Pennsville VFW and social member of the Millsboro, DE American Legion. He was a simple man who lived a simple life. He enjoyed yard work, boating and crabbing and was always there to lend a helping hand and he especially enjoyed the sunshine, eating crabs, spending time at the river boat ramp (Jips) and spending time with his loving family. Survived by his children, Terry J. Puitz and husband Ted of Pennsville, Victor J. Pyla, Jr. and wife Kim, and Lora L. Endres and husband Jimmy, Sr., sister, Shirley, grandchildren, Teddy (Tara), Tammy (Harry), Jamie, Vicki, Joseph, Cheryl, Beth Ann, (Chris), Jimmy Jr. (Lisa), great grandchildren, Tenley, Connor, Mason, Nicholas, Brent, Gage, Mara and a great granddaughter to be expected on his birthday (July 30,) Predeceased by his wife of 46 years Barbara A. Krough Pyla (2003). Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM on Monday Feb.27th at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 4:00 to 5:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be private.
