William F. Jaeger (Bill) 79, of Pennsville, passed away Saturday February 4, 2012 after a brief illness, with his family at his side. He was born in Guttenberg Iowa, but spent most of his life in Salem County. He was the son of the late Charles and Veronica Matt Jaeger. Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Laura (Peg) Jaeger, daughter Betty Lou DiPirro & husband George of Wilmington DE, daughter Evelyn (Devon) Wright & husband David of Pennsville, and son Kenneth Jaeger of Northeast MD. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, Reverend Nathan Wright, Bradley Driscoll, Brandon Wright, Kara Edmonds, Travis Jaeger, Samantha Jaeger, Alexandra Jaeger and 4 great grandchildren, Noah Wright, Julia Edwards, Madison Wright and William Edmonds. Survived by his siblings Elizabeth Turnage (Fred) of Winston-Salem NC, Kathleen Nothdurft (John) of Swedesboro NJ, Rodney Jaeger of Homosassa FL & Jack Jaeger (Betty Jane) of Pennsville NJ. He is predeceased by his siblings, Robert Jaeger, Jeanne Pruitt & Shirley Dodgen. Bill retired from the New Jersey Turnpike Authority in 1996 as a Shift Supervisor. He was a member of the Penns Grove Masonic Lodge #54, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, The Valley of Southern New Jersey & the Veterans of Foreign Wars #253, Salem, NJ. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving with the Canine Corps during the Korean War. Bill enjoyed being surrounded by his family and summer weekends at the Jersey shore. A Masonic service will be held 11:00 AM followed by Rev. Nathan Wright on Thursday February 9, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Fernwood Cemetery. Bridgeton.
