Obituary of Sam T. Hemenway

Sam T. Hemenway, age 96 of North Cape May, NJ and a former longtime resident of Cedar Crest, Carneys Point, NJ died Thursday January 19, 2012 at the Victoria Commons Assisted Living, N. Cape May. Sam was born in Detroit, MI and was the son of the late Mead A. and Lillian G. Brink Hemenway. He was employed in Elastomers Engineering at the Louviers DuPont Site, in Wilmington and retired in 1980 following 17 years of service. Sam was a WWII Army Veteran and retired from the Army Reserves as a Major. Member of the Reserve officers Association and a longtime member of the Deepwater U.M Church. Survived by a son Richard A. Hemenway of W. Cape May, NJ, 2 grandchildren, 1.great grandson. daughters-in-law Mary Smith and Nancy Hemenway, grandchildren Ian Hemenway and Jill and John Hogate, great granddaughter Ava. Predeceased by his wife, Anna M. Jaggard Hemenway (2001), brother, Glen F. Hemenway, sisters, Elaine Hemenway and Gail L. LaLonde Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM on Wed. Jan. 25th, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Burial will be at the Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.
