Watson B. Davis, Jr., age 82 passed away at home on Jan. 1,2012 after a long and courages battle with cancer. Watson was the son of the late Watson Sr., Julia and stepfather Harry Curriden. He is predeceased by his son Steven Davis and brother John E. Davis. Mr. Davis was a resident of Pennsville and a graduate of Salem High School class of 1948. As a young man, Watson worked with his stepfather as a shad fisherman, he was also employed on the Pennsylvania Railroad, Delaware-New Jersey Ferry Co. and General Motors. After 38 years of service, he retired in 1989 from Atlantic City Electric as a stationery engineer. Watson served as Welfare Director in Pennsville Township for 10 years and most recently the Pennsville Sewage Authority. Watson's interest included coaching his sons in Little League 1961-1972. He enjoyed politics, as a lifelong Democrat. Watson was a avid wrestling fan. He loved to fish in NJ, Virginia, N.C. and Canada. He enjoyed traveling in the Western states & Canada. Spending time with his family was very important to him. He is survived by his wife, Jean (nee Nelson), his sons Scott and wife Debbie, Stacy and wife Bonnie, Stuart, Spencer. Also daughter Sue Ann and husband Albert Wilson and daughter-in-law Darlene Davis. Grandchildren Kevin and wife Kim Davis, Brant Davis, Dru Davis, Logan Davis, Barbara Davis and Chuck Christopher, Albert and wife Theresa Wilson, Michael and wife Kim Wilson, Lora Wilson, Cara and Jason Buckley, Nicolle and Frank Klimek, Whitney and Chris Widger. Along with 13 Great grandchildren. And 1 very spoiled black lab (Mia). Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday Jan. 3 at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Burial will be at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown.
